In celebration of the Dreamcast’s 20th anniversary, I went digging into my old Hi8 video tapes to share some of the footage I recorded at the Sega Dreamcast launch party on September 10th, 1999 where Peter Moore announced the console’s amazing launch day sales.
The day after the Sega Dreamcast debuted in North America on 9/9/99, Sega’s Peter Moore announced the sales figure of “the biggest launch in entertainment history”: a whopping $97,904,618.09.
